IBM LTO-4 Tape Green Backup Storage Medium
IBM has been involved in manufacturing tape media for more than 50 years and has introduced numerous breakthrough technologies that are utilized in tape media for increased performance and effectiveness. IBM in 1928 invented the eighty-column punch card. In the year 1959, IBM introduced the first 729 read-write drive and in 1984 the first cartridge drive IBM 3480 was launched into the market. IBM 3590 enterprise tapes were introduced in 1999 and finally in 2000 the first generation IBM LTO-1 came into the market.
Data throughput in IBM LTO-4 tape has been increased by 50 percent and capacity by 100% from that of IBM LTO3 technology. The encryption capability of IBM LTO4 95P4437 reaches up to 240 megabytes/second. IBM LTO4 95P4436 tape minimizes the risk of data loss, improves the tape media longevity and maximizes the performance. IBM 95P4437 LTO 4 tape offers the features of data archiving and backup that are the demanded by storage personnel. These needs include outstanding performance, high speed, cost effective, data protection, high capacity and fast data access. Low power consumption of IBM LTO4 tape products provide the companies with green archiving & backup medium for the data centers.
IBM LTO ultrium cartridges are tested extensively. The product engineering, research & development, manufacturing process, and product management contribute in producing high quality and durable LTO tape cartridges. These manufacturing expertises maintain high quality of the IBM LTO data tapes throughout their PLC (product-life cycle). Quality control process throughout the media assembly and tape production of IBM LTO media is very strict and rigorous. IBM LTO ultrium drives and tape media pass the rigorous testing successfully that goes beyond the specifications of LTO. Visit Tape4backup for special offers on IBM LTO ultrium tapes and other data tapes as well.
In quality control process of the tape production, first of all the raw materials are inspected carefully to assure their quality. Then careful inspection is done during the processes of media coating, calendaring and slitting. Then again quality assurance inspection is carried out before the tapes moves into the next phase of production. During the media assembly production, inspection is done in servo writing and tape loading process. When the product is ready, then final quality assurance inspection is done before sending the IBM LTO tapes for packaging.
IBM 95P4437 LTO-4 tape is a high capacity cartridge offering space for 800 gigabytes native data. IBM LTO-4 95P4436 is the most efficient tape technology that not only saves the cost but the energy as well. IBM LTO 4 tape has the solution for all the challenges that are faced by the storage administrators in order to address their daily work operations. IBM is committed to provide the value and functionality that the organizations require today and in the future as well.
Due to higher capacity of IBM LTO4 tape, less space will be required by library cartridge with reduced backup windows.

I have an old IBM 1998 Dinosaur. Is their a universal cable to connect it to high-speed? TY.?
It's an older style computer from the dark ages so to speak and I was wondering, what type of universal type cable out their is compatable that will allow me to connect it to my high speed internet. Is their even such a cable to use? I noticed that this older tower has two smaller USB ports that isn't compatible with my high speed internet connector. On my newer computer it has the two smaller ones and the bigger port. I'm not computer knowledgable except hooking up my computer, running it and surfing so if any one thinks this is a silly question and wasting your time please don't answer. Only if you take me seriously with this problem. It is a legtimate question. Thank-you for your time. Jenny:}
It sounds like your old computer just needs a network card- that'w what gives you a port to plug into high-speed Internet (either cable or DSL)
What operating system does the computer have? Windows 2000? Windows 98?
Finding a Win98-compatible network card probably means a trip to Ebay, since recently-manufactured ones don't include Win98 drivers any more... You can find used cards really cheap, but you'd have to download the driver software and burn it to a CD.
